Hey all, I have version 4.6.1 installed of WordPress Multisite with a couple of subsites created. As I understand, domain mapping is now built in and we no longer need a plugin. I have followed as much as I can to try and implement everything properly, but have still run into an issue.
The issue is this:
1) My external domain (DOMAIN.com) maps to the root site (NETWORK.com) and not the subsite I am trying to map it too (NETWORK.com/SUBSITE).
2) Also, going to NETWORK.COM/SUBSITE directly shows the root site. Although it appears to not be forwarding me – it still shows NETWORK.com/SUBSITE as the url – but I see the root (NETWORK.com)
As a note: I am able to log into wpadmin for the subsite and everything seems to work in the backend.
Some backstory of what I have done:
I created an A record with the registrar DOMAIN.com pointing to NETWORK.com’s IP.
I changed the Site Address (URL) of the SUBSITE to DOMAIN.com.
Anyone able to help? What’s going on?
