I get a 404 error when I save my menu

Hi

I need to set up a multiple level menu. I have set up 5 top level menu items and am attempting to add sub-level items. I am able to save about 3 or 4 items, but then after that I get a 404 error when I click save. It won’t allow me to add any more items.

I have tried deleting the menu and starting again, but I get the same result. How can I fix this so that I can create a lengthy 3 tier menu?

I am running the Avada theme.
