We recently launched a WordPress site running Yoast where in approximately 11,000 instances, the meta description text is showing in the excerpt field, while the actual meta description field is blank.

I’m not sure if this was the result of an error that occurred when we imported the content to the new WordPress site, the result of a settings error, or a bug.
I know that we can write and run a script that would copy the excerpt to the meta description, but wondered if anyone has seen this before and has any suggestions to correct.
