Folks,
Thanks for such a great plug-in. I apologize in advance if this has been covered somewhere else but after an hour or searching and reading I had to post a message.
I am attempting the “sprinkle of PHP in your theme’s functions.php file” described in your article “Change the default view for categories to List view” https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-default-categories-view/
I copied and pasted exactly as provided in the file on Git to the bottom of my current functions.php. I only added shell style comments to designate the additional code. See picture attached.
When I attempted to use the new “sprinkle” by clicking on the Event Category on the single event page I got a blank page without execution errors. I then went and flushed the permalinks as you describe and and retested there was no obvious change to the results – blank page.
I have since returned an original copy of the functions.php file and gotten back to the previous undesirable state, but working state.
I’m not a PHP programmer so I am hoping I made some obvious and stupid newbie mistake. I have the latest version of WP and your plug-in.
All suggestions are greatly appreciated. I really don’t want a Month View of Category items coming up for /event/… URLs, but I do want the Month View respected for /events/. If there is a better way I am wide open.
Again, thanks so much for your great work.
Mike
