Slider disappears after updating to 3.4.38

The web page, using a child theme, worked perfectlly til I updated to 3.4.38. The the slider at the homepage disappeared

I tried to create a new slider, but failed too

So I had to return to 3.4.37 and then the slider works again

Could anybody help me with that stuff?
