don’t bother looking elsewhere for a SEO plugin

the name yoast becoming synonymous with wordpress seo didn’t happen by accident. a truly powerful plugin with a newbie-friendly UI, but still relevant enough for advanced seos. the value you get for the free version is remarkable. i’ve always been so happy with the free version that i’ve never felt compelled to buy the pro version, though I probably will just to support joost and his team of developers.

i’m probably starting to sound like a paid affiliate by now, but i launched my blog on jan 1st of 2016, and the first few months were slow in traffic, as expected (no backlinks, too early for google trust, etc). by the end of the year i had over a million unique page views.

i’m currently averaging 2k unique sessions per day (x4 daily page views = 8,000 page views per day) which puts me on pace to hit 3 million page views for 2017.

90% of my visitors are organic google traffic. while this can be attributed to many late nights of crafting relevant content in an untapped niche, it can also be applied to yoast guiding me along the way with a literal green/orange/red light system that helps remind me to optimize properly. there newsletters hitting my inbox about the dos/donts of proper optimization are also a welcome reminder.

just giving some credit where credit is due – thanks guys!

ryan, a happy yoast user for over 5 years.
