Cybersyn making tags into cats

I’ve been trying to get the best way to pull some content into a new site from some of my old sites.

This BTW appears to be a great plugin.

I’ve been testing it and when the results are not what I want I restored from backup the new site and wiped out the plugins work.

Now I figured out to just try to pull just 1 article not many and these are my issues.

I need tags to show as tags if possible, it appears the program has a switch to make tags into categories and not tags.

No matter what switch I use, the plugin is always making the tags into categories now even when we choose to not convert tags.

Maybe a deletion of the plugin and a fresh install may clear the issue.

But right now, every pulled post adds all the tags to categories and we can’t allow that.

I also noticed that even though tags do not show on pulled posts, unless you add some tags to use, the plugin is indeed adding ‘tags’ to WP even though they do not show on the post.

So what do you suggest to try to

a. get tags showing as tags in new site from posts if possible
b. how to stop tags from creating new categories on new site

We’ve tried a few different ways to select how the info is bought in, from atom, from the sites categories, etc.
Anyway, great script only issue we found was when we tried to make the ‘titles’ link to the source it didn’t work and that option caused our html snippets to not come over.

When we don’t use that link switch on the setup page the <h1> and custom snippets come over perfectly, which is pretty amazing.

A truly remarkable plugin so far, we are just trying to get the pulled content from our own sites into a post with categories and tags done correctly and the snippets with site headers and custom html done right.
